Andrew Ingham and Associates have over 25 years experience, a well equipped workshop, full CAD/CAM capabilities, CNC and laser cutting and rapid prototyping facilities. The company also employs a workforce of 15 experienced model makers under the guidance of Andrew Ingham himself. ARCHITECTURAL PRESENTATION MODELSAndrew Ingham and Associates approach model making from an architectural background. It is our aim to realise a design as clearly, cleanly and in the spirit of the concept as possible. We take all the related drawings, images, samples, ideas and even conversations as our brief to create a model that communicates instantly to those who have neither the time nor perhaps the experience to appreciate them in their original graphic form. Models communicate on many levels, while the attention to detail and accuracy convey the nuts and bolts the pleasure of a well-made object reflects on all involved; they precede the real thing and indicate the level of care and attention that might be expected. Particular attention is paid to the scaling effects of colour, ‘grain’ and proportion to avoid a ‘toy-town’ look. CAD-CAM TECHNOLOGY IN MODEL MAKINGCAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) is now routine and all our models are made in this way. CAD (Computer Aided Design) information supplied by the client is used as the basis for preparing components to be machine cut. This gives unprecedented accuracy, flexibility and repeatability. All projects are archived for possible future use. LIGHTING AND ANIMATION FOR PRESENTATION MODELSMost models are now lit - this gives a range of images and moods that can better express the design intention and it is simply more appealing to the eye. Some models are designed to split to reveal interiors or hidden views. These can be anything from simple hinging to remote controlled lift mechanisms. These models can also be integrated into a full audio-visual presentation. PLANNING MODELSOver the years we have provided models for many leading architects, including Grimshaws, Benson + Forsyth, Richard Rogers, Foreign Office and HOK. We have also helped to win competitions by providing models for Heneghan Peng, Marks Barfield, 3D Reid, and many others. EXHIBITION AND PRESENTATION MODELSWe have been involved in several major exhibitions including the Living Bridges exhibition at the Royal Academy, where we provided 14 historical bridges with tanks and running water, and the city of Armana which toured a number of USA venues and is now in Egypt.
