We have just completed the installation of eight external glass screens, each 4m wide and nearly 2m tall. They are sited in a small public garden overlooking the sea front at Bridlington in East Yorkshire and adjacent to the famous Bridlington Spa. This project is a part of a major redevelopment scheme that is transforming this historic Yorkshire seaside resort, designed by Bauman Lyons Architects.

The series of eight panels has been designed by Kirsty Brooks, an experienced and versatile glass artist. Each panel shows a detail from the local environment expressed in subtle colours that are almost but not quite transparent. The panels are made up of two layers of glass laminated together with an image both inside and outside the laminate, creating an interesting kinetic experience for the viewer.

The panels have had a great response from local citizens and tourists. Over the next few months the site will receive the special tree planting which will be the culmination of this plan to create a beautiful venue for relaxing, listening to concerts and enjoying the sun.
