MULTI-UV POLYCARBONATE SHEETS FOR HEAT INSULATION

Makrolon multi-UV sheets provide superior heat insulation. IQ-Relax multi-UV sheets reduce the temperature inside the building by reflecting the InfraRed (IR) portion of the sunlight.

The Makrolon multi-UV six-wall sheet (type 6/16-20) illustrates how the material contributes to the economic efficiency of construction projects. The sheets have a heat transfer coefficient (Ug) of 1.82W/m²K and an optimal ratio between Ug factor and sheet thickness. Unlike conventional 16mm thick multi-wall sheets, the material reduces the energy consumption in buildings by up to 25%.

Makrolon multi-UV sheets have been used for the façade of a power plant in southern Italy, the soccer stadiums of Cologne and Frankfurt (which were modernised for the 2006 World Cup) and the Shenyang stadium for the 2008 Olympics.

It consists of a special 25mm diffuse sheet that lets the light pass through abundantly, and offers excellent insulation values (Ug < 1W/m²K) at the same time. Through a special technology it can be coloured in any tone, adding aesthetic accents to buildings in cladding or roofing applications.
