ARCHITECTURAL LAMINATED GLASS

Laminated glass is available in a full array of thicknesses and sizes. The glass displays the visual appearance of monolithic float glass and offers greater personal safety after breakage because it tends to remain in the frame. Laminated glass also provides improved sound control due to the sound-deadening capabilities of the PVB interlayer applications. Thus making it appropriate for:

  • Commercial glazing
  • Display cases
  • Aquariums
  • Banking facilities
  • Glass floors
  • Entrance doors

Laminated glass size goes up to 2.4m (96in) x 3.3m (144in). Larger sizes may be available on request. We offer clear glass as well as standard colors of green, gray and bronze all available in single and double glazing.

HEAT-STRENGTHENED GLASS

Heat-strengthened glass is approximately twice as strong as annealed glass of equal thickness, and also has a greater resistance to thermal loads. Typically, the glass breaks into large pieces making it suitable for use in spandrel and vision areas where added resistance to wind load and thermal stress is required.

The standard thicknesses range from 3mm (1/8in) to 10mm (3/8in) with a maximum width of 2.4m (96in), and maximum lengths up to 3.7m (144in). Other glass thicknesses may be available on request and may vary by plant.

TEMPERED GLASS

Tempered glass is approximately four times stronger than annealed glass of equal thickness. It offers greater resistance to thermally induced stress than heat-strengthened or annealed glass. Thus making tempered glass suitable for use as a safety glass as defined by Consumer Product Safety Commission 16 CFR 1201, ANSI Z-97.1, 1984 and Canadian standard CAN/CGSM-12.1-M90.

Thicknesses range from 3mm (1/8in) to 19mm (¾in); maximum width 2.4m (96in), and maximum lengths up to 4.3m (160in). Other glass thicknesses may be available on request.

INSULATED GLASS

Insulated glass saves on heating and cooling by reducing air-to-air heat transfer, aiding energy conservation. Insulated glass is suitable for commercial and residential glazing.

Standard thicknesses range from 9mm (7/16in) to 25mm (1in) for commercial and residential use, and a maximum thickness of 33mm (15/16in) in sloped-glazing applications. Other glass thicknesses may be available on request.
