The ArGeTon® ceramic facade was developed in the 1980s as a modern-looking rear-ventilated rainscreen façade range. The aesthetic flavour of the ArGeTon facade has remained consistent for years. An ingenious water drainage system prevents contamination, and the ceramic colours are durable and remain bright and lively even after being subjected to rough weather conditions. The facade will always be an object of joy and delight to its viewers because of its charm. Ball-resistant ceramic facadesAs the first and up to now only manufacturer of ceramic facades in Germany, ArGeTon has passed the test for ball-throwing resistance according to DIN 18032-3. The high resistance of this facade solution is based on the efficient geometry of a 30mm thick extruded plate, the first-class ceramic pieces as well as the newly developed Type B/85 brackets. The special feature of the new bracket is that it supports and bears the ceramic plate evenly at several points so that the occurring forces are optimally distributed. Durable, hi-tech ceramic facadesThe ArGeTon facade effortlessly combines traditional elegance with high-tech modernity. In combination with steel, glass or wood, the ceramic facade impresses viewers with its subtlety, elegance, simplicity and timeless perfection. Thus, it refines the new, state-of-the-art constructions and lends a contemporary character to renovated structures. The facade lining always represents high-quality architecture and its design, which is attractive and state-of-the-art. Argeton use a wide range of shapes, formats and surfaces to help create a design well-suited to a client’s personal requirements. Thus, a stylish and elegant combination with modern construction materials, such as steel or glass, is possible. Award winning ceramic facadesThe MIPIM award, which is presented at the International Real Estate Fair in Cannes, is considered the Oscar award of the construction industry. The central office building of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg was awarded the prize for "The Best Office Building in the World for 2008". The most distinct features of this new construction are a cantilevered roof and a chocolate brown ArGeTon facade in complete harmony with structural glass. This unusual colour was developed at the special request of the architects from the ceramic clay colour "red brown" range. To achieve this, the technicians in the ArGeTon factory in Görlitz mixed different clay types of various shades. Nearly 3,000m² of ArGeTon small format tiles were fired for the project along with 2,000 Barros sunscreen rails for the lower stories of the building.
