Icynene to Expand in Midlands and North West

11 March 2009

Icynene, the leading North American manufacturer of soft foam insulation, which has recently been awarded BBA (British Board of Agrément) certification, is looking to expand - particularly in the Midlands and north-west of England.

Founded in Canada in 1986, Icynene is the largest supplier of soft foam insulation and air barrier material in North America and has participated in over 150,000 healthy, environmentally-friendly and energy efficient building projects. It currently operates throughout the USA, Canada, Dubai, Mexico, Japan, Korea, China and Europe.

"Soft foam is the fastest growing insulation material in the world today and we are now looking for new dealers in the Midlands and North West," said Mick Morris, director of Airseal Insulation. "We are particularly looking for dealers with experience in the construction industry and a good working knowledge of insulation. Suitable dealers will be self employed but supported by Icynene through training, marketing, web sites, enquiry forwarding and equipment advice. The dealer will have the benifit of being part of an expanding, profitable business."

Icynene is a spray-in-place expanding soft foam insulation and air barrier system that is 100% water-blown and contains no harmful emissions. Applied as a liquid, Icynene expands to 100 times its volume in seconds to fill every crack and crevice while remaining flexible so that the integrity of the building envelope seal remains intact over time.

"As proven technology, Icynene® delivers multiple benefits including superior thermal performance with up to 50% in energy savings, healthier indoor air by reducing condensation-related mold and mildew, and reduced sound transmission," explained Mick Morris. "It can be used in residential, commercial and industrial applications involving all types of construction materials and offers significant increases in energy efficiency, increasing air tightness and reducing CO2 emissions."

"Icynene is also popular with design professionals as it enables them to explore geometry and space without compromising building envelope performance. As an air barrier, Icynene will meet or exceed the air tightness performance standards set out by the Code for Sustainable Homes," added Mr Morris.
