Kami - Lightweight Metal Roofing System

Established in 1976, KAMI have almost 30 years of experience in lightweight metal roofing systems with heavyweight performance. KAMI roofing systems are made with Scandinavian quality materials, and are supported with a wide range of fittings produced by KAMI and carefully selected suppliers.

KAMI lightweight metal roofing systems weigh between 2kg/m² and 8kg/m², which makes them ideal for flat-to-pitched roof conversions and other pitched roof installations where structural weight is a priority.

TILE-EFFECT, STEEL-SHEET ROOFING SYSTEM

When the KAMI range was introduced it was the first tile-effect steel sheet manufactured in up to 7m long lengths suitable for roofing. Since then the range has expanded and manufacturing processes continue to improve to ensure that customers receive the highest quality roofing system possible. The long length of the KAMI sheet means quicker installation and reduction in the amount and costs of supporting battens.

The tile effect on KAMI metal roof sheets is made with a stretch pressing technique, which gives the steel sheet increased strength and in turn provides greater carrying capacity capable of withholding a man's weight. However, this is not the only strong point of KAMI products, new developments have followed the original PLEGEL and two top quality PVC-free surface coating systems. KCC and Terra were developed by KAMI to improve quality, product lifetime and aesthetic appeal.

These surface coatings are applied in our own painting line after the pre-coated steel sheet has been given its form, which helps close potential micro-cracks after bending. This method is unique to KAMI and gives PlusPLEGEL and TerraPLEGEL improved lifetime performance with high resistance to corrosion and a colour-holding surface. The resulting finish can be smooth (KCC) or sanded (Terra), giving you choice over the aesthetic appeal of your roofing.

The KAMI lightweight roofing system can be supplied in standard length or cut to size up to a maximum of 7m. It comes in a wide variety of materials, finishes and styles to suit your application. Variations include:

• TerraPLEGEL Hi Load, double-coated steel tile-effect sheet, sanded finish, 0.9mm thickness
• TerraPLEGEL double-coated steel tile-effect sheet, sanded finish, 0.5mm thickness
• PlusPLEGEL double-coated steel tile-effect sheet, smooth finish, 0.5mm thickness
• AluPLEGEL aluminium tile-effect sheet, 0.6mm thickness
• PLEGEL single-coated, steel tile-effect sheet with matt polyester coating for more budget driven projects, 0.5mm thickness

TerraPLEGEL HI LOAD 0.9mm – Tile-Effect Steel Roofing System

TerraPLEGEL Hi Load is the tough, tile-effect steel roofing system. The extra thick hot dip zinc-galvanized steel sheets are coated in our Terra surface coating and are available in Dutch or Scandinavian profiles in five different colours.

TerraPLEGEL 0.5mm - Galvanised Steel-Sheet Roofing

With TerraPLEGEL, the galvanised steel sheet's strength is united with a quartz-sand coating and a tile-like structure. Available in Dutch or Scandinavian profiles in seven different colours, TerraPLEGEL weighs only 5kg/m² and is 0.5mm thick. This light weight is considerably beneficial when designing the total roof construction.

PlusPLEGEL 0.5mm - Durable Coated Roofing

PlusPLEGEL is a later development of PLEGEL. PlusPLEGEL is covered with a PVC-free KCC-coating, giving it an excellent colourfast surface with very good resistance to scratches and corrosion. PlusPLEGEL's KCC coating is oven cured at a very high temperature (250°C). This coating is extremely durable and long lasting, and is available in seven different colours.

AluPLEGEL 0.6mm - Lightweight Aluminium Roof Sheet

Like the other steel KAMI products, AluPLEGEL metal sheets have the appearance of roof tiles, but are made of aluminium and are available in black or red. Manufactured in 0.6mm aluminium, a standard aluminium roof for a single-family home (150m²) weighs a mere 300kg.

PLEGEL 0.5mm - The Original Tile-Formed Roofing Material

PLEGEL is the original of all tile-formed roofing materials in long lengths. The tile-formed design in combination with the patented manufacturing method gives the product great carrying capacity and full walk-ability. PLEGEL is produced from galvanized steel sheets in Scandinavian and Dutch styles. The coating is matt polyester in seven different standard colours.
