Over the last 50 years the Marcolini family has established Marcolini Marmi as one of the world’s leading suppliers of stone raw materials including marble, granite, onyx, travertine, slates and other natural stones.

Located in the very centre of northern Italy, we have strong links with the area's most prominent quarries, including the Carrara and Botticino quarries which source some of the most sought-after quality marble in the world.

Our experienced purchasing staff pays regular visits to the main granite quarries throughout the world, consolidating strong business partnerships with each site to ensure that Marcolini remains at the forefront of the vast and dynamic raw construction materials market.

As well as raw stone materials, we now also have the biggest range of stone tiles in Italy.

At Marcolini we are constantly searching for new materials and technologies to help us process our stone. We have always managed every stage of our production to make sure every available method is used to process our rough materials, an approach that ensures Marcolini Marmi continues to retain its position as the most innovative and flexible provider of stone products.

Granite and marble cut to size and with a variety of finishes

All of our stones come in a wide range of finishes: polished, flamed, honed, river-washed, scratched, sand-blasted, bush-hammered, stone-hammered and antiquated. We can cut and produce them as calibrated, bevelled tiles 1cm thick or cut to the exact size you require, either as slabs or as panels in any thickness.

Each stage of our production process, such as the cutting and finishing of the stone, is managed only by us to ensure each order meets the highest possible standards.

At Marcolini we are passionate about stones. We understand that raw stone such as marble is naturally beautiful, and it is only through appreciating and working with nature to enhance its beauty that we can bring out its full potential.

Granite, travertine, marble and onyx are stones which, according to their setting, conjure up feelings of opulence or lightness, warmth or coolness, elegance or informality, sophistication or minimalism – they adapt perfectly to all architectural requirements and styles.

Antibacterial properties for granite products

Marcolini is one of the first companies in the world to have developed an innovative treatment which produces granite slabs with lifelong anti-bacterial, self-cleaning and oil and water-repellent properties.

Our range of antibacterial-treated granite features built-in active anti-microbial technology which is applied during manufacturing and 'locked in' to the granite to a depth of several millimeters, meaning that even with wear, tear and washing, the antibacterial system will remain intact. All of our antibacterial-treated granite products have been rigorously tested at the CIAS, the University of Ferrara and the Eurofins Biolab, where they have been proven to inhibit and even reduce the build-up of bacteria and fungal growth over time.

Self-cleaning granite products

Our especially developed treatment realizes an innovative sealing and coating system with self-cleaning properties: the active principle is able to react by dissolving and melting the impurities. The treated granite surface becomes much more resistant to scratches and wear, maintaining in time its aesthetical and mechanical properties.

Oil-repellent properties

Marcolini’s surface treatment can re-qualify the surface layer of the material, making it water-and oil repellent: water drops oil and any dirt slide away on the surface without adhering to it. This goal has been reached through different techniques applied on the nanometric scale, by chemically modifying the angle of contact between the product’s surface and the water drops that touch it.
