Integrity Gasket - Acoustic and Thermal Construction Gaskets

Integrity™ Gaskets are acoustic and thermal construction gaskets to silence squeaky floors, reduce noise and sound transmissions and provide thermal barriers. They can be used with both steel and wood framing systems.

Every homeowner expects their home to be properly engineered for structural strength and stiffness. However, superior floor and wall performance goes beyond strength by reducing unwelcome and embarrassing noises that occur from floor and wall vibrations, like items rattling in a china cabinet or floors creaking.

Integrity Gasket increases floor and wall comfort by placing an isolator strip between the floor joist and subfloor sheathing or studs and drywall to absorb vibrations. Laboratory tests and usage in thousands of projects across the country clearly confirm that the Integrity Gasket reduces noise and builds a more comfortable floor and wall system.

INTEGRITY CONSTRUCTION GASKET

Integrity Gasket is a formulated gasket that provides a uniform layer between the framing members and surface materials to reduce impact sound transmission through floors and walls, reduce floor vibration and reduce squeaks.

The Integrity Gasket is a closed-cell PVC material with a strong adhesive on the bottom and a smooth, durable Mylar top.

HOW IS INTEGRITY GASKET APPLIED?

Integrity Gasket comes in 100ft-long rolls. It is available in three widths (17/16in, 2¼in and 3in), other widths can be produced upon request. It is applied using a roll-along applicator, but can be applied by hand if necessary.

WHY SHOULD I USE THE INTEGRITY GASKET?

Integrity Gasket offers the latest technology in construction to increase IIC value, reduce vibrations and squeaks. Its low density effectively reduces impact transmissions and helps isolate vibrations through floors and walls. This increases IIC value and provides a quieter, more comfortable room.

The builder realizes time savings and fewer call backs (a 1,200ft² area can be covered in about 30 minutes), it goes down quickly, cleanly and uniformly so there's no messy clean-up or untreated surfaces, it can be used in all seasons and no special skill is required to install the gasket. TRIED AND TESTED NOISE AND VIBRATION CONTROL

Independent sound testing produced results comparable to STC values associated with ASTM E-90. Testing determined that Integrity Gaskets were especially effective against the transmission of airborne sound in the human voice range of 200Hz to 700Hz. Other tests carried out on the Integrity Gasket include:

• ASTM C-518 - test method for steady state heat flux measurements and thermal transmission properties by means of the heat flow meter apparatus
• ASTM D-1667 - specification for flexible cellular materials - vinyl chloride polymers and copolymers (closed cell form)
• ASTM E-2240 - test method for rubber property - durometer hardness
• ASTM E-84 - test method for surface burning characteristics of building materials
• ASTM E-90 - test method for laboratory measurement of airborne sound transmission loss of building partitions
