HOMEbase - Outdoor Furniture

HOMEbase is a 100% Danish owned company which designs high quality furniture for outdoor living and cruise line use. Since its conception in 2000 the business has been grown to include more than 400 distributors in Europe and the USA. HOMEbase distribute their furniture through retailers and to the contract market.

HANDMADE OUTDOOR FURNITURE

All HOMEbase products are hand-woven using artificial wicker, and appear light and natural without needing any maintenance thanks to their Ecolene fibre and powder-coated aluminium frames. The cushions are made of Sunbrella - the leading outdoor fabric.

ECOLENE - ARTIFICIAL WICKER

Ecolene is a polyethylene artificial wicker that has been developed to meet all standard specifications for outdoor furniture. Its latest extrusion technology has been specifically designed to create an artificial wicker that is durable, flame resistant and free from cracking, splintering and corrosion, whilst still retaining a natural look and feel.

The unique quality of the fibre makes the HOMEbase items suitable for the cruise line industry, pool areas, hotels and restaurants, swimming areas, and ski resorts. Ecolene’s unique propeties include:

HOMEbase was awarded the design prize Prix Decouvertes 2006 in Paris, Planète Meuble for the Capo Chair and received recognition as a highlight of the IMM Cologne in 2007. With the new DIAMOND lounge collection internationally renowned Danish furniture designers Strand+Hvass have created a bold, eye-catching design. Strand+Hvass have created high quality furniture for well-esteemed Danish and international furniture companies since 1998. Their style combines a sense of capricious dynamism with tones of classical Scandinavian design.

CHARLOTTE VYFF-DESIGNED SUN LOUNGERS

HOMEbase is to lauch a new concept of a sun lounger this season where both ends can be raised for flexible seating. It expands upon the Venice line, which ranked among the highlights at the IMM Cologne in 2007. With its straight lines and forms, the wings of the lounger are a sophisticated supplement to the HOMEbase collection. The designer behind the range is Charlotte Vyff, a designer that is renowned for creating outdoor furniture with a light, almost whimsical aesthetic which belies a sturdy and durable design concept.

FLEXIBLE FURNITURE CONCEPTS

HOMEbase also works on larger projects together with spatial architects and interior designers. Their flexible production methods allow for the design of customized prototypes before an order is fulfilled. HOMEbase costumers include Four Seasons Hotels, P&O Cruises, Frontgate US, and Galeri La Fayette.
