IP video networking systems

In an IP video networking environment, many camera feeds converge upon surveillance centers. The video network will require multicast capabilities as well as provisions for hard-to-reach locations, and security for non-authorized views. GarrettCom IGMP-L2 simplifies and manages multicast on the LAN. GarrettCom PoE products simplify wiring problems by powering the cameras over the Ethernet wiring. No separate power supply is needed. Power over Ethernet (PoE)

GarrettCom offers a full range of PoE products from the network core out to the edge. The central Magnum 6K managed switch line offers many different fiber, copper and combination modules to meet the widest variety of application environments. The switches offer up to eight managed PoE ports for 48VDC switches. The Magnum PES42P PoE Edge Switches are available in over 200 different models with 4 PoE ports and two non-PoE ports in copper or virtually any fiber type. An integrated IPS42 power supply chassis is available for the PES42P for an elegant AC or DC power conversion. GarrettCom also offers the four-port PS14P PoE power source switch, the pioneer product for hardened PoE networking.

Hardened networking products for harsh environments

Surveillance applications are often outdoors and require hardened networking products. GarrettCom products are temperature-hardened for the most extreme environments, from a location in a NEMA enclosure out in the desert to a traffic control box in a frigid location. Many products have sealed cases to keep out water, dust, and dirt. Some Magnum line products even use their hardened metal cases as heat sinks (no fans).
