UNDERFLOOR HEATING SYSTEMS

Encompas design underfloor heating systems to suit all kinds of floor construction, whether in the home, office, school or a commercial property. After viewing the plans of a client’s building, our designers and engineers can get to work drawing up of heat loss calculations. Encompas only uses PE-xb / aluminium multi-layer pipes for underfloor heating which come with a 50 year guarantee as standard.

Encompas can also design underfloor heating systems to integrate with existing central heating, and still deliver the benefits and savings whilst remaining completely out of site.

HEAT PUMPS

By combining underfloor heating systems with heat pumps, Encompas allows for the best of both new worlds. The size and design of a property will dictate the size and type of heating system and heat pump to be used. Heat pumps - work in much the same way as a refrigerator, only in reverse, and come in two main types. One takes heat from the ground by way of a mix of water and brine flowing through the loops of a pipe that is buried in trenches in the ground, sunk into boreholes or placed at the bottom of lakes or canals. Deep-drilled boreholes can extract up to 40W/m of borehole. 15-25W/M² of energy can be extracted from ground collector loops.

The other type, namely air source heat pumps, use the temperature in the air thus eliminating the need for collectors of energy in the ground. The heat pump subsequently transfers the sun’s energy into the water based heating system. This is ideal where space and access are limited.

Every control system Encompas installs - from simple thermostats to sophisticated low-energy technology - are all designed to ensure that the underfloor heating system works efficiently and economically, 24 hours a day. Pipework and manifolds are sourced from top quality manufacturers, and room thermostats come in different designs for 230V, 24V and 12V, all of them ensuring optimum performance. We aim for easily controlled warmth, so nobody gets hot under the collar.
