The Thames Tunnel, dubbed the "eighth wonder of the world", was the project on which Isambard Kingdom Brunel cut his teeth as a civil engineer. Now the Brunel Museum and architect Tate Harmer are looking to transform the tunnel's Rotherhithe entrance shaft into an accessible and memorable performance space, all while preserving the soot-stained walls of this historic structure.
