Definition:

A gasket is a flexible strip of material that seals the space between two components to prevent leakage of a gas or fluid between the two objects. There are a further two types of gaskets, rubber gaskets and metal gaskets, which are used to seal varies industry parts from refrigerator doors to parts of an engine.
