Britain Names Shanghai Short List

The Shanghai Expo 2010 is the stage for one of six leading designers hoping to win the contract for the British Pavilion.

Avery Associates Architects, Draw Architects, Heatherwick Studio, John McAslan & Partners, Marks Barfield Architects and Saha Hadid Architects, along with respective partners, were short listed out of 47 entries.

The pavilion itself will comprise of a meeting hall, banquet hall and festival hall and will measure in at 1.5m².

Winners will be announced in September for the Made in Britain competition – until then, each short listed design can be viewed at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
