The Office of Metropolitan Architecture, led by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, has designed a 'vertical village' apartment complex in Singapore.
The eight-hectare complex is made up of 36 interlocking six-storey blocks stacked in a hexagonal arrangement, containing 1,000 apartments.
Developed by CapitaLand Residential, the complex will feature communal green spaces and facilities on its roofs and terraces, as well as a series of large-scale courtyards.
CapitaLand says the project has been designed to bring a new concept of environmentally-conscious living to Singapore and will contrast with typical vertical towers in the city.
