Plans to build a skyscraper development in the UK town of Reading have come under fire from the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE).
The organisation has voiced concerns about the Station Hill development, which will include a 394ft-high building, news website 24dash.com reports.
The application from developer and Chairman of Reading Football Club John Madejski to Reading Borough Council seeks permission to redevelop the site to create a new urban quarter comprising office, residential, retail and leisure space around a framework of public and pedestrian/cycle access routes.
CABE says it has "significant reservations" about the scale of the project and expressed concerns about over-development.
"CABE is not convinced that sustainability has been designed into the scheme," the organisation says.
The current Station Hill site, adjacent to Reading Station, is a collection of buildings mostly constructed in the early 1970s.
