Hadid UFO Pavilion Design of The Future

13 March 2008

Mobile buildings and museums could adorn the cities of the future, architect Zaha Hadid has announced during the launch of her UFO-shaped art pavilion in Hong Kong.

The "Mobile Art" pavilion is currently on the first stop of a promotional tour for French label Chanel.

Iraqi-born Hadid, who is known for her futuristic designs, told Reuters that she believes in the idea of temporary or mobile pieces as a way of "regenerating the city in an interesting way".

The pavilion is modelled along spiralling shapes and has been designed to exhibit the work of 20 contemporary artists.
