HKR Updates London's Famous Groucho Club

15 April 2008

One of London's leading celebrity haunts – the Groucho Club in Soho – is to get a makeover by HKR Architects, the firm said today.

The project, due to start later this year, will include a rear extension to the basement and the first four levels to make way for a new lift shaft and staircase, as well as new bedrooms.

HKR will also work on the refurbishment of the existing bedrooms, bringing the members club – which first opened its doors in 1985 to flocking artists, musicians and actors—up to modern standards.

"The enhancements to the Groucho will ensure not only that the members' experience is enhanced, but that it remains a lively beacon of individuality in the 21st century," HKR CEO Gordon Pickering says.
