Nouvel Paris Tower Design Chosen

28 May 2008

French architect Jean Nouvel is set to transform the skyline of Paris with a design for a mega tower block, to be built on the city's borders.

The recent Pritzker Prize winner's Signal tower design has been selected for construction alongside existing skyscrapers at La Défense, greater Paris.

At 300m, the tower will almost match the Eiffel Tower and will contain offices, luxury apartments and shops.

The project was launched by President Nicolas Sarkozy in 2006 and includes two other 300m towers, to be built by 2013.
