Noliac and 3XN Design Denmark Museum Pavilion

01 July 2009

Noliac Motion has designed a pavilion for The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark in partnership with the Danish architecture firm 3XN using sustainable and smart materials.

The biomimicry-based pavilion interacts with its physical surroundings and users.

The stacked ceramic multilayer actuators (SCMAs) by Noliac in the pavilion's floor are piezoelectric to absorb energy from its users and be converted back into electricity.

The pavilion makes minimal use of new materials in a recyclable and fully biodegradable physical framework, and purifies the air by using the energy from the sun to break down pollutants.
