The world's tallest building has been unveiled in Dubai, standing at 2,683ft high.
The US$21bn (£13bn) Burj Dubai development was designed by US architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
The 169-floor Burj features the world's highest 853ft swimming pool (76th floor), highest observation deck (124th) and the most elevated place of worship – a mosque on the 158th floor.
On the 108th floor are 900 residential apartments designed by celebrated designer Giorgio Armani. Above these are 37 floors of 300,000sq ft of office space, a restaurant, a gym on the 123rd floor and a nightclub on the 144th floor.
Armani's first hotel is situated on the first eight floors and on levels 38 and 39 and features 160 rooms and suites alongside a spa, two restaurants and a nightclub.
The tower's exterior features 28,261 glass cladding panels and houses 3,000 underground parking spaces.
The building sits atop a hexagonal concrete core and is mounted on three wings in a Y-shape.
An asymmetrical giant tube locked together by the hexagonal concrete core protects the tower, allowing it to sway as much 6ft in the worst weather conditions.
A complex system of airlocks has been built in the lift shafts and stairwells, which will protect the building in a storm.
