Work to Begin on UK Titanic Museum

Construction work on the £15m ($23.5m) Sea City Museum in Southampton, England, will begin this week.

The museum plans to open in 2012 to commemorate 100 years since the ill-fated Titanic embarked on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, according to BBC News.

Since 2009, the project, which will feature two permanent exhibitions, has secured £4.9m ($7.7m) from the Heritage Lottery Fund towards the project, while the rest of the funding will be secured from the local council.
