China-based CITIC Group has broken ground on a 500m tower named China Zun Tower in the Chinese capital Beijing.
The 108-storey building will be shaped like a vase, inspired by an ancient Chinese wine vessel, according to CITIC.
The skyscraper will serve as an office building and tourist destination and the top floor will function as a sightseeing platform and cafe, providing visitors with a panoramic view of Beijing.
The building will incorporate environmentally friendly features, including advanced energy-saving technology.
China Zun Tower will be higher than the nearby China World Trade Center Tower 3, a 330m tall building that is currently the tallest in Beijing.
