Hyatt Hotels has started construction on its fourth select service hotel in the Puerto Rico Convention District in San Juan.

The latest development follows the recent opening of the company’s 126-room Hyatt House San Juan on 1 October.

To be developed by a joint venture between affiliates of Hyatt, PRISA Group and McConnell Valdés Consulting, the new $29.7m Hyatt Place San Juan is expected to be commissioned during the first quarter of 2016.

The 156-room Hyatt Place San Juan / Bayamon opened in last December, followed by the 106-room Hyatt Place Manatí this March and the 126-room Hyatt House San Juan in October.
