Interserve has secured a £19.4m contract to build a research, innovation, learning and development (RILD) centre in Exeter UK.
Interserve’s clients for the project are the University of Exeter and the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust, Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry.
The centre will include a diabetes research facility, a redeveloped postgraduate education centre, and an information management and technology training facility.
It will also house provision for the faculty of health and social work, a learning and development service, and a GP training scheme.
The four-storey development, designed by Devereux Architects, will incorporate a highly glazed central hub that will form the main entrance area and accommodation wings that will be faced in masonry, with both displaying a textured and smooth finish.
