Multiplex wins £240m contract for AYKON London One tower

Global contractor Multiplex has secured a £240m deal to construct Nine Elms Property’s AYKON London One residential tower.

Nine Elms Property is a wholly owned subsidiary of real estate developer Damac International.

Set to be designed in partnership with Italian fashion house Versace Home, the €645m 50-storey tower will comprise studios, as well as one, two and three bedroom apartments.

Damac International chairman Hussain Sajwani said: “AYKON London One is our premiere international development outside of the Middle East and a landmark project for the UK’s capital.

“Based on its 50-year track record and expertise in the construction industry, we are delighted to appoint Multiplex as the main contractor to build this iconic residential project, which will be the first-of-its-kind in London.”

The development, which will offer 450 new homes, is sited within Zone 1 at Nine Elms on the South Bank.

Designed by architect Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, the Versace-branded tower is scheduled for completion in 2020.

As well as a roof garden at level 24, AYKON London One will have four storeys of office space and a sky bridge between the south building and north tower.

The tower will offer other amenities such as a children’s play area, indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, gymnasium, residents lounge, hospitality services, and 9,924ft² of communal gardens.
