Plan to build a stadium in the town of Truro, Cornwall, UK, is set to go ahead as the government decided not to call in planning applications.

The firms developing the stadium intend to use this development to begin construction by next summer.

The £20m stadium will be located at Langarth, near Truro, reported Constructionenquirer.com.

Developers of the stadium Inox Group and Henry Boot Developments intend to raise funds for its construction.

The stadium will feature 10,000 seats and additionally serve as a home for Cornish Pirates and feature sporting and retail facilities.

Cornish Pirates chairman Ian Connell was quoted by Constructionenquirer.com as saying: "This is great news and provides the opportunity at last to make S4C a reality.

Meanwhile, Truro City Football Club has stated that it has received approval for its commercial programme plan, which is needed to pay for its stadium that features 6,000 seats.

The football club intends shift to the Silver Bow location, which is situated on the city outskirts so that its present ground at Treyew Road can be converted into a retail park.
