Robertson Properties Group has revised its plans for the Kamehameha drive-in property in Aiea from commercial to mixed use development, allowing for commercial and residential development.

The 14-acre development will encompass 1,500 residential homes and an estimated 220,000ft2 of commercial space, including retail, office space and a hotel.

The key changes to the master plan include scaling down the number, size and height of the previously proposed residential towers and the number of residences has been reduced from 1,800 to 1,500.

The project is expected to start in early 2014.
