Santa Clara University’s Paul Locatelli Student Activity Center has secured LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council.

The 16,284ft2 facility features multipurpose rooms and conference rooms, while the lower level accommodates a 6,000ft2 assembly hall.

Sustainable features include trellises and overhangs to reduce direct solar gain on the south and west faces of the building.

The facility uses mortar-free pavers and decomposed granite for walkways around the building, which reduce water run-off and divert it to planting zones.
