Veidekke Entreprenør has secured a NKr226m ($37.7m) contract to build 101 flats for Veidekke Eiendom at Risenga in the Asker municipality of Norway.

Under the terms of the contract, Veidekke will construct two neighbouring projects just outside the centre of Asker. The projects include 36 flats at the Risenga Terrasse project and 65 flats at the Risenga Tunet project. The buildings will be built using in-situ concrete with façades of mainly wood panelling, and all the flats will be specially designed for residents aged 55 and over, featuring large, windowed balconies, cellar parking, common assembly rooms and guest flats.

Veidekke Entreprenør said all flats will be designed to provide a healthy indoor environment for elderly occupants. The company will construct a total of about 13,000m2 of residential space in nine structures ranging from three to five storeys with two joint parking cellars. The project will be developed in cooperation with the Asthma and Allergy Association and the turnkey contract also requires the company to construct a municipal road and a noise-deflection wall.

The groundwork is expected to commence at the end of January and the first takeover will be in May 2013.
