Stade Bordeaux Atlantique, a consortium between Vinci Concessions and Fayat, has signed a €166m contract to build a 40,000-seat stadium for UEFA EURO 2016 in Bordeaux, France.

The contract covers design, financing and construction, as well as operation and maintenance of the stadium for 30 years.

Vinci and Fayat have appointed architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron to design the stadium.

It will be square-shaped with tall columns holding the bowl of the grandstands, Vinci said.

The stadium will be constructed by Vinci Construction France through its subsidiaries GTM Bâtiment Aquitaine-Limousin and Faure Silva, and the Fayat group, through its companies SEG-Fayat, Razel et Castel & Fromaget.

Vinci Facilities will maintain the stadium after its completion.
