Leading warm edge supplier Swisspacer has appointed Kathryn Dalgleish to the newly created position of marketing and sales manager UK and Ireland. Kathryn’s role is to develop existing and new business for Swisspacer’s top performing warm edge spacer bar in the UK and Irish window markets. Kathryn will also be working with industry organisations such as the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) and British Fenestration Ratings Council (BFRC), and independent simulators to ensure Swisspacer is developed in line with any changes in legislation.

Kathryn previously worked for both Saint-Gobain Glass UK and Solaglas as market and product manager, and then for Solaglas as marketing manager and latterly business development manager. She says, “It’s an exciting time to be joining Swisspacer. Interest in warm edge products is rapidly growing due to increasing demand for Window Energy Rated (WER) windows and proposed changes in legislation. Swisspacer is well positioned to help sealed unit manufacturers and window fabricators take advantage of these opportunities.”

Swisspacer’s combination of thermal performance, U-value benefits, accreditation, aesthetics and the ease with which it integrates into the manufacturing process (with no need for costly investment) makes it stand out from other warm edge spacer bars. UK sales of Swisspacer increased 110% in the first six months of 2008. This trend is expected to accelerate, with year on year sales forecasted to increase 300% by the end of the year.

Swisspacer’s managing director Matthias Meissner comments, “We’re delighted to have Kathryn on board. Her experience of the market and product is ideal for supporting new customers making the transition to Swisspacer and helping existing customers increase their sales of high performance sealed units.”
