Alimak Hek, a global supplier of hoists, lifts, and work platforms for construction and general industry, announces that it has established new operations in India. Petter Arvidson, president and CEO of the Alimak Hek Group said: “The establishment of an operation in India is an important step in our global strategy, which entails securing a strong presence in all major regions and countries.”
The India operation will be led by Mr Shankar Rao, who was recently appointed managing director for Alimak Hek India. Mr Rao has extensive experience in the rack and pinion industry, primarily in construction hoists and permanent lifts.
Alimak Hek in India will initially focus on the construction market, including customers such as construction companies, contractors and rental fleet operators, and on industrial markets such as petrochemical, power, and cement.
The Alimak Hek product offering for the Indian marketplace will include the Alimak 450 and 650 hoist ranges, Alimak industrial lifts, and the Hek work and transport platform ranges. The company will also offer complete array of after market services.
Fredrik Wiking, Alimak Hek’s executive vice president and head of business area construction equipment, said: “The construction sector in India is expected to continue to experience strong growth.
