Richard Burbidge is the UK’s leading supplier of interior and exterior balustrades, offering innovative systems for a variety of commercial applications, including hospitality, office and multi-occupancy apartment developments. The company also offers a vast range of contemporary and traditional balustrade styles for private residential housing.
Indoor balustrade system
Richard Burbidge’s flagship interior balustrade system, FUSION® Commercial, is a contemporary mix of minimalist oak handrails and sleek tubular balusters in a modern brushed nickel finish. Available off the shelf, FUSION® Commercial is an accessible and affordable alternative to expensive bespoke systems that often have lengthy lead times. In most instances there is no need to modify the components, other than cutting
the rails and newels to length.
FUSION® Commercial is compliant with UK Building Regulations for communal areas, such as apartment buildings and offices and is tested for public stairs requiring loadings of 0.74kN/m. The system can be used for a variety of staircase configurations in commercial projects, including straight, split, cut and closed strings. It is suitable for stair pitches of between 33°and 42°, and handrail heights of 900mm for staircases and 1,100mm for landings.
Designed for use on decking, patios and balconies, FUSION® Commercial outdoor balustrade uses a stylish structure of timber rails and metal newels, with a choice of infill options offering creative flexibility. Designers can choose from timber balusters, slatted timber panels or contemporary glass panels, ideal for accentuating views and creating a sense of space in smaller areas. FUSION® Commercial outdoor has been tested to withstand loadings of 1.5kN/m, making it suitable for use in outdoor public dining areas, raised decks and apartment balconies, which require stronger balustrade systems. In addition, it is intelligently designed for ease of fit, offering valuable on-site time savings.
Ideal for luxury housing developments and designed to help developers add value to prestigious residential projects, the Heritage Collection features generously sized 115mm newels and 55mm spindles in a choice of classic styles.
Supplied in white oak, the system is suitable for use in domestic settings, having been strength tested to withstand loadings 0.74kN/m, in line with UK Building Regulations.
The Heritage Collection is available on a three-week turnaround for added convenience. Newels and spindles are available in a variety of elegant styles, including Arlington, Blenheim and Hampton.
