Climatix is the new range of controllers, from Siemens Building Technologies, for OEMs operating in the fields of air conditioning and refrigeration. Thanks to its modular design, Climatix is very versatile and offers the right solution for any type of application ranging from primary plant with AHUs, chillers and rooftops to fan coil units on the consumer side.
With its Climatix range, Siemens supports the trend toward integration of the controllers in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment on the OEM’s production line. As a result, the effort required for installation and commissioning of plant will be minimised. For energy efficiency reasons with these types of plant, the requirements placed on control technology have become more and more demanding. A high level of energy efficiency can be achieved primarily by using matching components that also ensure interoperability. For this reason, Climatix supports all tested, proven and certified standard communication protocols, such as BACnet, LonWorks, KNX and ModBus, enabling the controllers to be straightforwardly integrated into building automation and control systems.
Seamless integration is made possible especially when employing Climatix in connection with the Desigo/Apogee system from Siemens. Communication and integration capability also form the basis for services that enhance energy efficiency for preventive maintenance and performance contracting. An advanced web module with built-in web server facilitates service and monitoring via the Internet, enabling all parameters, faults and trends to be straightforwardly read out.
The Climatix range covers all types of application. This includes standard controllers for basic, cost-optimized HVAC applications, such as fan coil units and controllers for more demanding applications featuring communication. Also available are freely programmable controllers for complex solutions with AHUs, or chillers that demand maximum flexibility in term of communication and extension. Thanks to the modular and scalable design of the range, system adaptations can be made with no need for redesigning the control panel – mechanically or electrically. A special feature of the controllers is freely programmable inputs and outputs that offer great measuring accuracy and a high level of flexibility for a host of demanding applications.
Climatix controllers are equipped with a USB-PC connection facility. An RS-232 port is used for delivering alarms via GSM modem. A built-in IP port ensures simple services via the internet. Using the SD card, software or parameters can be easily and directly loaded to the controller. Also included in the product range, are various types of communicating and network-compatible operator units plus color and monochrome touch panels. In addition, text, graphic HMIs and HMIs with LCD are available. All types of HMI can be matched to individual customer needs, if required.
Application libraries with preprogrammed applications are available for the entire range. Using powerful graphic programming software, they can be easily matched to customer requirements. The software also contains tools for commissioning and service.
All types of Climatix controller are designed for wide ambient temperature range from -40°C to 70°C, which makes them suitable for all climatic zones.
