Geberit Opens New Headquarters and Training Academy
Geberit has celebrated the move to its new purpose-built UK head office and training academy in Warwick with an official opening ceremony. The event was attended by Bernd Kuhlin, a member of the executive board of the Geberit Group, and the mayor of Warwick, Anne Mellor, who unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion.
The company, which is also celebrating its tenth anniversary in the UK, relocated to Warwick from Kent to be closer to its customers. The new headquarters (located just off junction 15 of the M40), along with a distribution centre in Wellesbourne, provide a more central location with access to major transport networks.
Designed by Archial Architects and named Geberit House, the building incorporates 12,500sqft of high-specification office space. Taking advantage of the site surroundings, the design maximises daylight while controlling solar gain and provides a light, bright, pleasant working environment. Archial Architects assisted Geberit in obtaining a BREEAM rating of very good for the building.
Geberit is a European market leader in quality plumbing solutions for plumbers, installers and retailers, supplying a wide range of innovative washroom, bathroom, supply and drainage products. The new £2.5 million building in Warwick will be the centrepiece and focal point for all Geberit’s training activity.
UK managing director Mark Larden said: “The new Geberit Training Academy offers superior, specialist training opportunities with robust and technologically advanced facilities, including a two-storey hydraulic drainage tower for demonstrating plumbing practice and a practical workshop for hands-on experience, for all our customers and their customers.”
Geberit has the most comprehensive product offering for sanitary, supply and drainage systems available to the UK construction industry.
