June 2021 has seen an decrease of 1.28% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.01% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering decrease of 0.09% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 43% in June 2021, a 15.2% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 26.37% in June 2021, marking a flat month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 15.01% in June 2021, a 7.25% growth from May 2021.

Top five construction companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 19.64% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s construction industry during June 2021 over previous month.

Macquarie Infrastructure Group posted 102 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 67.21% over the previous month, followed by China Merchants Property Operation & Service with 86 jobs and a 10.42% drop. Jones Lang LaSalle with 42 IT jobs and Americold Realty Trust with 20 jobs, recorded a 16.67% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Assa Abloy recorded a 41.94% decline with 18 job postings during June 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s construction industry

Australia commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 45.64% share in June 2021, a 13.64% rise over May 2021. China featured next with a 23.53% share, down 4.13% over the previous month. India recorded a 13.59% share, a drop of 24.72% compared with May 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.86%, down by 5.32% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.81% share, a decline of 23.16% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.92% share, up 29.41% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.41%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
