Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 53.51% in June 2021, a 12% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 19.19% in June 2021, marking a 12.35% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 14.86% in June 2021, a 24.66% drop from May 2021.

Top five consumer companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 20.36% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s consumer industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Haier Group posted 90 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a decline of 1.1% over the previous month, followed by Carrier Global with 32 jobs and a 48.39% drop. Signify with 22 IT jobs and Unilever with 17 jobs, recorded a 42.11% decline and an 88.89% increase, respectively, while British American Tobacco recorded a 28.57% decline with 15 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s consumer industry
China commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 35.14% share in June 2021, a 29.35% decline over May 2021. India featured next with a 29.46% share, down 8.4% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 6.49% share, a growth of 20% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.03%, down by 32.97% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.32% share, a growth of 26.76% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.57% share, up 40% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.08%, recording a month-on-month growth of 100%.
