Australia construction industry registered a 7.9% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 0.06% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.4% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 0.58% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 94.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia construction industry in June 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 40.89% in June 2021, a 13.58% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 19.11% share, an increase of 2.38% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 19.11%, registering a 22.86% rise from May 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.89%, up 122.22% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in Australia IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 32.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia construction industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
Macquarie Infrastructure Group posted 97 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 64.41% over the previous month, followed by Americold Realty Trust with 20 jobs and a flat growth. The GPT Group with 17 IT jobs and SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) with 10 jobs, recorded a 19.05% drop and a 54.55% decline, respectively, while Downer EDI recorded a 38.46% decline with 8 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.33%, up by 22.82% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with an 11.11% share, a decline of 28.57% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.56% share, up 41.67% over May 2021.
