Hong Kong construction industry registered a 5.3% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 4.55% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.94% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 1.67% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 11.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Hong Kong construction industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
Jones Lang LaSalle posted 2 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Sun Hung Kai Properties with 2 jobs and a 100% growth. Hang Lung Group with 2 IT jobs and AECOM with 2 jobs, recorded a 50% drop and a 50% decline, respectively, while China Resources Cement Holdings recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.75%, down by 42.11% from May 2021. Entry Level positions with an 18.75% share, a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 12.5% share, flat growth over May 2021.
