India construction industry registered an 18.6% decline in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 9.84% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 13.01% share in June 2021, recording decrease of 1.27% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.51% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India construction industry in June 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 61.19% in June 2021, a 33.87% drop over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 13.43% share, decline of 30.77% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.94%, registering a 14.29% rise from May 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.96%, down 25% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in India IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 5.88% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India construction industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
Jones Lang LaSalle posted 21 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 10.53% over the previous month, followed by Assa Abloy with 13 jobs and a 35% drop. Bechtel with 5 IT jobs and Ramboll Group with 5 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 25% increase, respectively, while SNC-Lavalin Group recorded a 33.33% an increase with 4 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.21%, down by 35% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 35.82% share, a decline of 4% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.97% share, flat growth over May 2021.
