Australia’s construction industry registered a 44.9% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 9.69% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.64% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 1.43% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.43% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s construction industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 38.36% in August 2021, registering a 71.15% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 33.62% share, an increase of 116.67% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.5%, registering a 45% rise from July 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 10.34%, up 33.33% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 343.24% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s construction industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
Monadelphous Group posted 63 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 1475% over the previous month, followed by The GPT Group with 54 jobs and a 315.38% growth. AmeriCold Realty Trust with 21 IT jobs and Actividades de Construccion y Servicios with 14 jobs, recorded a 950% flat growth and a 250% flat growth, respectively, while Downer EDI recorded a decline of 14.29% with 12 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 75%, up by 89.13% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 13.36% share, registered an increase of 47.62% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 11.21% share, down 10.34% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.43%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
