Europe witnessed a 4.6% rise in IT hiring activity in the construction industry in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
June 2021 has seen an decrease of 1.18% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.28% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering an increase of 0.84% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 50.8% in June 2021, a 38.2% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 17.68% in June 2021, marking a 9.49% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 13.1% in June 2021, a 17.83% drop from May 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 9.77% in June 2021, a 15.96% decline over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 45.31% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s construction industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Stantec posted 79 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a decline of 82.25% over the previous month, followed by AECOM with 77 jobs and a 755.56% growth. SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) with 65 IT jobs and Alpiq Anlagentechnik with 43 jobs, recorded a 66.67% growth and a 59.26% increase, respectively, while Assa Abloy recorded a 14.71% an increase with 39 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s construction industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 52.53% share in June 2021, a 38.94% decline over May 2021. Germany featured next with a 7.54% share, down 23.75% over the previous month. France recorded a 7.05% share, a drop of 8.06% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.68%, down by 15.42% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 25.22% share, a decline of 49.63% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.51% share, down 7.61% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.6%, recording a month-on-month growth of 10.53%.
