Europe witnessed a 2.1% rise in IT hiring activity in the consumer industry in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
July 2021 has seen decrease of 2.35% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.66% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering an increase of 0.31% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 51.8% in July 2021, a 10.67% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 17.65% in July 2021, marking a 33.01% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 16.11% in July 2021, a 7.41% drop from June 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 6.06% in July 2021, a 21.67% decline over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 22.11% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s consumer industry during July 2021 over previous month.
Fujitsu General posted 74 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered an increase of 29.82% over the previous month, followed by Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 50 jobs and a 31.58% growth. Unibel with 39 IT jobs and Lotus Bakeries with 37 jobs, recorded a 33.9% decline and an 184.62% increase, respectively, while British American Tobacco recorded a 39.13% an increase with 32 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s consumer industry
France commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 14.95% share in July 2021, a 23.18% decline over June 2021. the UK featured next with a 13.66% share, down 1.85% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 12.11% share, a drop of 3.09% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.3%, down by 12.83% from June 2021. Entry Level positions with a 16.49% share, a growth of 7.56% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 15.08% share, up 3.54% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.13%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
