India’s construction industry registered a 2.9% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 39.31% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 12.23% share in August 2021, recording a decrease of 4.27% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.78% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s construction industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 60.47% in August 2021, registering an 11.36% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 17.83% share, an increase of 43.75% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 9.3%, registering a 20% rise from July 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 7.75%, up 25% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 85.29% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s construction industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
Jones Lang LaSalle posted 25 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Altisource Portfolio Solutions with 19 jobs and a flat growth. CDM Smith with 8 IT jobs and Burns & McDonnell with 6 jobs, recorded an 11.11% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Stantec recorded a flat growth with 5 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.79%, up by 2.53% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 28.68% share, registered a decline of 9.76% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.53% share, up 57.14% over July 2021.
