The US construction industry registered an 18.1% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 7.66% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.4% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 0.24% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded an 112.36% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US construction industry in July 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 45.94% in July 2021, a 52.68% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 33.58% share, an increase of 308.5% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 16.01%, registering a 96.05% rise from June 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 12.31%, up 201.32% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in the US IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 245.88% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US construction industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
CDM Smith posted 419 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 10375% over the previous month, followed by Black & Veatch with 362 jobs and a 136.6% growth. CBRE Group with 72 IT jobs and AECOM with 59 jobs, recorded a 928.57% growth and a 145.83% increase, respectively, while Owens Corning recorded a 41.76% decline with 53 job postings during July 2021.
Mid Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Mid Level jobs held a share of 43.42%, up by 211.97% from June 2021. Junior Level positions with a 42.29% share, a growth of 18.52% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.95% share, up 8.82% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 6.34%, recording a month-on-month increase of 1080%.
