July 2021 has seen an increase of 5.62% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.99% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering an increase of 0.91% over the last three-month average share.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 42.86% in July 2021, a 53.85% drop over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 42.86% in July 2021, marking a 70% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 21.43% in July 2021, a flat growth from June 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 56.25% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s construction industry during July 2021 over previous month.

AECOM posted 2 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a decline of 81.82% over the previous month, followed by Bechtel with 2 jobs and a flat growth. Network Rail with 1 IT jobs and WSP Global with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 50% drop, respectively, while MRV Engenharia e Participacoes recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during July 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s construction industry

Saudi Arabia commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 42.86% share in July 2021, a 50% decline over June 2021. United Arab Emirates featured next with a 21.43% share, down 78.57% over the previous month. Republic of the Congo recorded a 7.14% share, a flat growth compared with June 2021.

Mid Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Mid Level jobs held a share of 57.14%, down by 38.46% from June 2021. Junior Level positions with a 35.71% share, a decline of 64.29% compared with the previous month.
