August 2021 has seen an increase of 4.14% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.59% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering an increase of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 49.44% in August 2021, a 16.9% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 17.7% in August 2021, marking a 51.98% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 15.06% in August 2021, a 13.55% drop from July 2021.

Top five construction companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 9.73% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s construction industry during August 2021 over previous month.
Black & Veatch posted 263 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a decline of 28.73% over the previous month, followed by CBRE Group with 116 jobs and a 29.27% drop. NANA RegionalInc with 106 IT jobs and KBR with 65 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 22.64% rise, respectively, while Jones Lang LaSalle recorded a 38.89% decline with 44 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s construction industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 91.01% share in August 2021, an 18.39% decrease over July 2021. Canada featured next with an 8.26% share, up 8.09% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.73% share, a drop of 31.58% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.24%, up by 0.4% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 22.08% share, registered a decline of 53.66% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.26% share, up 88.95% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 3.43%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50.41%.
