June 2021 has seen an increase of 0.85% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 1.99% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering an increase of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 50.52% in June 2021, a 4.01% growth over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 13.25% in June 2021, marking an 8.93% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12.73% in June 2021, a 29.5% drop from May 2021.

Top five consumer companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 38.32% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s consumer industry during June 2021 over previous month.
PepsiCo posted 34 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 61.9% over the previous month, followed by Coca-Cola Consolidated with 31 jobs and a 55% growth. Columbia Sportswear with 29 IT jobs and Herman Miller with 27 jobs, recorded a 16% growth and a 107.69% increase, respectively, while Under Armour recorded a 3.57% decline with 27 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s consumer industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with an 89.22% share in June 2021, a 3.92% decline over May 2021. Canada featured next with a 6.49% share, down 3.85% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 4.29% share, a drop of 5.71% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.26%, down by 23.43% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.62% share, a growth of 66.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.6% share, up 34.72% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.52%, recording a month-on-month growth of 300%.
